Clothes Made From Human Hair Are Hitting the Runways

In a push for sustainability, some scientists believe human hair is a renewable material that’s been overlooked. Now the fashion industry is taking notice. A start-up company in Amsterdam called Human Material Loop is turning strands that would normally be thrown away into fabric. One thing that makes Human Material Loop’s process different is the lack of water used. According to Environment America, it takes more than 700 gallons of water to produce one cotton T-shirt.
